Environment Agency

The Environment Agency is responsible for looking after and maintaining both The River Chew and Winford Brook. Annually the banks are inspected and excessive growth removed, and Bi-Annually the River Chew is dredged.

However, it is worth pointing out that if your property abuts either of the two water courses then it is your responsibility to ensure that trees, shrubs and Banks are maintained in good order and that any debris is not allowed to fall into the water and or cause obstruction.

Details of any Flood Warnings and subsequent relevant information concerning both The River Chew and Winford Brook, can be found by taking the link here.
