Diamond Travel Card

Diamond Travelcard now available in an instant

The while-you-wait Diamond Travelcard service has been extended to Riverside, Keynsham and The Hollies, Midsomer Norton – meaning that eligible residents can now visit all the Bath & North East Somerset Council Connect offices to claim their card, which entitles them to free off-peak bus travel across the whole of England.

The initiative follows a successful trial at the Guildhall, Bath where 160 people per month pick-up their card quickly and conveniently. Nearly 40,000 cards have been claimed since free off-peak bus travel started in April 2006. There is no need to complete an application form provided that evidence of eligibility and proof of residency are brought along. A Council Connect team member will take a photograph for the card at no cost and the pass will be printed on the spot.

Residents are reminded that eligibility for Diamond Travelcards is now tied to the State Pension Age – check the Government’s state pension age calculator or call Council Connect for more details.

Find out more about free off-peak bus travel for older people and disabled persons by telephoning Council Connect on 01225 39 40 41, emailing councilconnect@bathnes.gov.uk or visiting the ‘Travel & Streets’ section of the B&NES website by taking the link here.
