Sustrans is a charity which aims to make it easier for people to walk and cycle by making the case for change and providing solutions, in partnership with local organisations.<\/p>\n
In partnership with BANES Council, Bristol Water, Mendip AONB, Natural England, West of England Rural Network (WERN), Sustrans have been developing proposals for a traffic free walking and cycling route around Chew Valley Lake.\u00a0 It is the intention of the partnership that this new facility is an asset to the whole local community, and it is one of the aspirations of the Chew Valley and Stowey Sutton Neighbourhood Plans.\u00a0 The route has been developed in consultation with known local landowners and takes account of numerous constraints related to conservation of the protected lakeside species and habitats within the Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and Special Protected Area (SPA).<\/p>\n
