{"id":509,"date":"2017-08-16T13:02:29","date_gmt":"2017-08-16T12:02:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chewmagna.org.uk\/?p=509"},"modified":"2017-09-14T09:57:25","modified_gmt":"2017-09-14T08:57:25","slug":"local-residents-warned-about-companies-making-false-claims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chewmagna.org.uk\/index.php\/2017\/08\/16\/local-residents-warned-about-companies-making-false-claims\/","title":{"rendered":"Local residents warned about companies making false claims"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Bath &amp; North East Somerset Council is concerned that local residents are being misled by a company claiming they have the Council\u2019s backing.\u00a0 A Devon-based company has sent out letters with the Council\u2019s logo on it offering free energy saving measures and asking recipients to call a customer service number.<\/p>\n<p>However, the Council has absolutely no connection to this company \u2013 which has used the Council\u2019s logo without permission.\u00a0 Residents receiving this letter are advised not to contact the company.<\/p>\n<p>Bath &amp; North East Somerset Council\u2019s Trading Standards Team has issued a warning to the company to stop using the Council\u2019s logo. If you are unsure about an offer claiming to be backed by the Council, you can check with the Council by contacting Council Connect on 01225 39 40 41 or by emailing <a href=\"mailto:councilconnect@bathnes.gov.uk\">councilconnect@bathnes.gov.uk<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Residents interested in energy saving measures can contact the Council\u2019s Energy at Home Scheme which provides free home energy advice and access to grants and support to make energy saving home improvements.
