Resurfacing works will take place at the above location(s) from Monday 10th August and are
\nexpected to take up to 15 days to complete, depending on the weather.
\nWork will be carried out under a road closure between 7am and 7pm. This scheme will be
\ncompleted within 2 phases to minimise disruption. Advance notices will be positioned at the
\nentrances of the road to warn drivers of the road closure.
\nPhase 1 will be from the A368 to Newtown (Pony and Trap pub)
\nPhase 2 will be from Newtown to the junction of Denny Lane.
\nThe Pony and Trap pub will be accessible throughout the works from either one end or the
\nother. The switchover will be when phase 1 is complete rather than a set date. This allows us
\nto finish work earlier than the duration advised if we make good progress rather than stopping.
\nVehicles parked within the closure may be removed so as not to delay works. The road will be
\nre-opened to traffic at the end of each shift. Residents will need to make their own
\narrangements to find alternative parking. Unfortunately, this also applies to disabled parking
\nspaces within the area of work, we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
\nRestricted vehicle access for residents\u2019 private frontages within the road closures will be
\nmaintained whenever possible and when it is safe and as site operations allow. Access will be
\ncontrolled by Traffic Marshalls, who\u2019ll also give advice on likely access windows as the works
\nprogress. Unfortunately, there will be times when access will not be possible, so please be
\nprepared for delays, disruption and make alternative arrangements before these works start.
\nPlease consider providing advance warning to any deliveries or visitors you may expect during
\nthis period as there may be no access while the closure is in place.
\nJust so you know:
\n– Emergency services will always be given access when responding to an emergency.
\n– Bus operators have been informed and will be re-routing services if needed.
\n– We are working with our Waste Service Team to try and ensure collections are not
\ndisrupted, although regrettably there will be occasions when this is not possible.
\nBath and North East Somerset Council are working in partnership with our Contractor Volker
\nHighways, to maintain our highway network.
