Like many villages throughout the UK Chew Magna is aware of the importance of providing facilities for the Young People that are part of its community. Rural locations with their lack of Public Transport can-not hope to compete with some of the offerings in Cities and Towns such as Cinema\u2019s and Night Clubs. But what they can offer, are more active and community based activities.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

On a sporting front the following is an example of some of the Clubs that are available either within the village or very close to it, Football, Squash, Badminton, Tennis, Judo, Sailing, Cricket, Rugby. There is also Dance, Drama and Music Clubs. There are local Brownie, Guides and Rainbow packs, and contact details for all can be found on the web-sites Clubs and Associations page, or by taking the link here.<\/span><\/p>\n


\nEvery Thursday evening during School Term time at 7p.m. the Baptist Chapel runs \u2018The Shed\u2019 a Youth Group \/ Club for all Secondary School aged children.<\/p>\n

Also, during the summer of 2011 the \u2018Chew Valley Youth Trust\u2019 was established as a charity designed to support people aged between 13 and 19 in the region.\u00a0Instigated by the young people of the Valley, it is composed of\u00a0proactive residents who recognise that there is a need to provide young people with as much support as possible at a time when Local Authority spending is being squeezed.\u00a0 The CVYT aims are to support young people in the region through:<\/p>\n

–\u00a0 The provision of recreational and leisure time activities in the interest of social welfare, designed to improve their conditions of life;<\/p>\n

–\u00a0 Activities which develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals.<\/p>\n
