Regulatory Documents
Our lives are governed by both National and Local, Government regulations, regulations
that determine what we can and cannot do within our community. However, in most instances
before these regulations are passed, both the Parish Council and Individual Parishioners
are given the opportunity to comment on any proposed new law via Draft versions,
before they are submitted to Central Government and become law.
Because of the natural beauty of the area and the environment we live in, the village
and its surroundings are washed over by Green Belt, is a Conservation Area and sits
just outside an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and as such, it is important
that any New Government legislation that might affect any of these aspects of the
village or village life, are carefully considered and responded to both by the Parish
Council and Individual parishioners.
This area of the web site is therefore designed
to provide you with links into B&NES relevant Draft documents, and if applicable,
copies of forms that you can complete, plus various other Government Guides.

Draft Core Strategy
The Draft Core Strategy sets out the policy framework for the location and level
of new housing and other development and is one of the Council's key policy documents
that seeks to build upon the area's strong foundations which include the emerging
creative industries, success of local Universities, and vibrant retail and tourist
offer.
Through its vision and strategy for the district it aims to tackle tough challenges
over the next 15-
Using the land in the district as effectively as possible is crucial if Bath & North
East Somerset is to unlock the future economic potential of the area.
