A huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who cleared their drains and to the Wardens who supported their Zones.
It was a close thing last night and really important to prepare. Both our telemetry devices were feeding us information as well as taking visual readings.
An Alert was issued as the Environment Agency rang to say they were concerned that the Brook would reach ‘warning’ level around midnight. However just as the Brook reached the level at which the EA were about to issue a warning, the rain stopped and the culvert started to drop so we were able to relay this information to the EA and they waited half an hour and the warning wasn’t necessary.
When we come as close as this it is all the mitigating actions we take that have real impact and the clearing of the drains is such an important one. THANKYOU!
